Dr. Amos Cochran is the resident surgeon of Deadwood. This means he's usually up to his elbows keeping the soiled doves free of the pox, and has seen more death and degradation than any man ought. This has given him a warped and bitter outlook on life and sharpened his tongue into a deadly weapon, which he will unleash on those he feels aren't living up to his expectation (i.e. everybody). He's the only person in town who can speak his mind in front of the likes of Al Swearengen and get away with it, because he's far too valuable to kill. he dresses in a stained black suit, and wears his hair long. He has a worrying cough.
