Soloman "Sol" Star is an Austrian immigrant and has become one of the wealthiest men in town. He and Seth Bullock opened a hardware store, a bank, and a couple of small livestock ranches around Deadwood. Often referred to as "The Jew" by some of the less enlightened folk, Sol is an unflappable and cautious man who dresses in fine suits and is always impeccably groomed.
