Laughing Calf is Oglala Lakota, an elderly shaman well-versed in the Old Ways. He traveled to Nevada to hear the words of Wovoka, and has converted to the Ghost Dance religion wholeheartedly. Laughing Calf is a peaceful man, and doesn't much care for some of the "removing whites" rhetoric some of the other Sioux who have converted to the Ghost Dance espouse.
