A tall and leggy woman, narrow at the shoulders.  In her usual dress, she is usually in severe gray pinstripe fabric with very careful tailoring.  Her frequent transportation needs have forced her to adopt pressed slacks; even in carriages and on trains the hem has to be constantly minded.  Fine gloves and a black duster with deep hacking pockets is another acquiescence, to keep the trail dust off her.

Despite this her fashion is deliberately feminized: her suit is well tailored to her body and her bright white blouse is fringed.  Even the duster has a pinched waist and the shoulders are reduced.  She's always very clean and her black leather shoes, briefcase, and surveyor's case are all polished to a bright sheen.  She does her best to preserve all of her personal effects and keeps things looking new as long as possible.

Her hair is long and fair, always styled and clean, and she gazes over the black frames of her spectacles with dark brown eyes that methodically consider each subject in turn.  She looks like she properly belongs back in New York City, and makes no pretense of being anything other than what she is, a tinhorn with no visible means of even defending herself.  Despite that, her carriage suggests a lack of fear of the unknown west.
