They Fear Even His Horses (mistakenly called Man Afraid Of His Horse by the whites) is an older chief, who proudly fought alongside Red Cloud during Red Cloud's war. Though he is not fond of the White Man, he wishes to preserve the Deadwood Creek Treaty and avoid war. But he is also willing to fight if it comes down to it. Of the possible replacements for Red Cloud, he is the most like the fallen chief. He knows English and has acted as a representative of the Sioux people in negotiations.
