The epitome of a southern gentleman, Leonidas B. Farris is the Master of the City of Savannah and the congenial, avuncular, generous face of the vampires in Georgia. A resident of the city for many decades, even centuries, Farris maintains two personas. In his human guise, he is a popular fixture of Savannah high society, hosting lavish parties and acting as generous patron to a number of local charities. If he is a touch eccentric, it is no more than many other humans. If anyone has their suspicions, they do not voice them.

Farris has been a fixture of vampire society in Savannah since before the American Civil War and is apparently even older. A master vampire of Mr. Oliver’s line, he might not be the most beautiful or brilliant of his kind, but he has been strong enough to retain his position for over a century and behind his twinkly smile and booming laugh, he can be a steely presence if need be. He tries to maintain a friendly relationship with the other preternaturals and has little patience for those who cause trouble. He has thus instituted strict rules covering the vampires of the city to whom he presents himself as the stern but kindly paterfamilias.

He lives at an ornate mansion in Savannah, attended by a small staff of loyal retainers.

Farris’ Rules

• The Master of the City claims sovereignty over Savannah and its environs. All vampires who enter his domain, whether visiting or permanent, are subject to his laws and his judgment.
  
• All vampires new to Savannah must present themselves to the Master within twenty-four hours of arrival for permission to remain.
  
• The Master of the City is the only arbiter of disputes between vampires within his domain and between vampires and aware humans. Disputes between vampires and shifters should be presented to the Master and to the relevant Clan Head. No vampire shall use violence against human, shifter or other vampire except in self-defense.
  
• All vampires within Savannah should obey local, state and federal human laws and will cooperate with all duly appointed law enforcement in the conduct of official business unless doing so might reveal their nature or the existence of vampire society. All should aim to minimize suspicion and scrutiny to all preternaturals. If breaking laws, be discreet.
  
• No vampire shall turn anyone without the permission of the Master
  
• Good manners never go out of style.
