Physical Description: Charlotte isn't your traditional face of beauty, but there is an air about her that still makes her gorgeous but speaks to her more humble beginnings. Her jawline is more angular, lacking some of the soft edges that are found on most women's faces, yet she still pulls off looking feminine. She has icy blue eyes and naturally blonde hair was falls in waves past her shoulders. She tends to choose clothes that are flattering for her shape and typically fall on the darker end of the color spectrum. Following this, she also has a tendency to wear darker make up and she often adorns her body with various pieces of jewelry including a couple rings and numerous earrings. Her skin is pale showing her preferences and and habits for going out more at night than during the day. Its not that she can't go in the sun, she just has a preference for being out under the stars than under the sun.
Psychology
Demeanor: The exact personality of Charlotte is difficult to put a finger on since there are many different faces that she can put on depending on the situation. She can be kind and caring one day but the next there could a dark cloud hanging over her head and she won't put up with anything, all depending on what the situation calls for. Most days however she is somewhere in between, her emotions kept in check by her responsibility to her Pride. She knows just how rare it is for a Pride to be run by a lone female lioness and understands just how precarious her position is.
Nature: Those that are allowed into Charlotte's life however are those that get to see the real her. She is extremely loyal to those that she trusts, however it can be difficult at times to win that trust and almost impossible to get it back once lost. She cares deeply for her Pride and will do almost anything to protect them.
Character Merits:
- Loyalty - Charlotte is extremely loyal to her Pride and those that she considers to be her friends. She will do almost anything to protect them and keep them safe from harm.
- Protector - At heart Charlotte wants to be the protector of those around her, whether they are member of her Pride or those who are simply in a worse place than she is. This has motivated her to become involved with charity for orphaned children.
- Determination - Once Charlotte gets her heart set on something she will almost always see it through. It is this determination and tenacity that allowed her to reach the rank that she has within the Pride.
Character Flaws:
- Grudges - If one has the poor luck of getting on Charlotte's bad side, it is difficult to get off of it. She has a tendency to hold lasting grudges and has been known to exile a lion or two for wronging her and the Pride. She will often hold the grudges long after they should have been resolved.
- Loneliness - Being the Regina of a Pride without a Rex is a lonely job. A long time ago she had a Mate, but he was killed, leaving her with a loneliness that yearns to be filled.
- Loyalty - While her loyalty is one of her strengths, it is also a flaw. There have been times where her unyielding loyalty to those that she trusts has gotten her in trouble.
Sin: Pride
Virtue: Fortitude
Paranormal
Species: Werelion
Rank: Regina, Head of Clan
Abilities:
Standard
- Acute Senses: Lycanthropes have extremely acute senses, even in human form.
- Aura of Power: All shifters have an Aura of Power, though only Heads of a Clan can actively use theirs.
- Control animals: Within line of sight, speak with and influence animals of their base type, in this case lions. Not too useful on this continent.
- Fast Healing: Lycanthropes can recover from almost any wound other than that caused by silver weapons. The more powerful the shifter, the greater the wound they can recover from suffering.
- Hybrid Form: As they gain experience, they can shift into a hybrid form a bipedal cross between their animal type and human form.
- Pass as Human: Short of supernatural senses telling otherwise, you cannot tell a shifter from normal without a blood test.
- Physical Prowess: All lycanthropes are extremely fast, strong, and resistant to damage. Lycanthropes' strength appears to depend somewhat on their actual size and somewhat on their level of supernatural power, as well as what kind of animal they are based upon.
Alpha
- Partial Change: The ability to partially shapeshift, for example shifting hands into claws
- Quick Shifting: Can change back to human form sooner than normal weres, even on night of the full moon.
- Resist Moon's Call: An ability to resist transforming.
- Taming the Beast: The ability to force other shapeshifters to change form, or to prevent them from doing so. Also able to calm or enrage another's beast. Most effective on own kind, though limited effect on other weres to dampen their beast (if strong enough).
- Enhanced Standard Abilities: Acute Senses, Aura of Power, Fast Healing, Physical Prowess
Head of Clan
- Feel the City: Sensing the presence of others of their kind in their territory. Not a precise locator, but simply knowing they are present.
- Slashing Aura: Using their aura of power to attack anothers. Similar to the Master Vampire ability to strike at an aura or power.
Weaknesses: (edited to reflect abilities, removed Full Moon due to Resist Moon's Call)
- Silver: Wounds caused by silver weapons heal much more slowly than other wounds.
- Fire: Damage caused by fire heals human-slow.
- Silver nitrate: Burns like silver and prevents healing until removed from the wound, and even after heals slowly.
- Vampire's Call: Lycanthropes can be "called" and commanded by a vampire with the power to call their species.
- Control: Strong emotions, pain, magic, vampiric powers, and mind-altering substances that work on lycanthropes can however erode that control, or even remove it entirely.
- Energy: Changing between forms requires a great deal of energy. Very powerful lycanthropes do not need to feed immediately and won't collapse, but they are exhausted regardless.
- Feralization: Lycanthropes who spend too much time in animal form may lose their ability to shift back completely. As a result, some lycanthropes have fangs, voices, or eyes resembling their animal form even when in human shape. However, it's also possible for a lycanthrope to get stuck in their full animal form. Those individuals usually end up losing their mind and have to be put down.
- Contagion: Lycanthropes bodily fluids are contagious when they are in an animal or hybrid state, and even partially shifted claws can infect a human if they pierce skin. Their blood might also be infectious even in human form. A bad batch of lycanthrope vaccine can also infect a person, although it's not very common. Some types of lycanthropy are easier to catch than others, which is one reason why e.g. werewolves are so much more common than weretigers, or in this case, werelions.
Biography
Background: Since arriving in Savannah, Charlotte has worked her way up from the new Lion in town to the head of the local Pride, becoming their Regina. The task required much effort to accomplish and requires just as much for her to hold it as it isn't common for a Pride to be headed by a lone Lioness. Along with her rank in the Pride, her status in the city has also grown, and although she is no where near as wealthy as her family was, she lives comfortably and is happy with what she has.
History: Charlotte was born as the only daughter to a wealthy family in Raleigh, North Carolina. She never had to worry about going hungry or not having what she wanted. Her family provided her with a good life yet she was always feeling as if something was missing. They always intended for her to be the perfect little debutant and marry a man from one of the other high society plans, but Charlotte never was a fan of that idea. From the time she turned 16 and men started calling on her, she always did something to frighten them away or make her seem like she was unappealing to have as a wife.
This went on for almost three years, and by the time she was 19 she had purposefully scared off all of her suitors in the Raleigh area, having fallen for a man from a much lower status in society to her, a man who unbeknownst to her was a werelion. His name was William and she ran away from home to be with him, giving up everything that she had ever known. Together the two fled Raleigh to start a new life in a new city.
They settled down in Charleston, South Carolina and it wasn't long before the full moon hit and Charlotte found out his secret. He hadn't told her in fear that she would leave him, but knowing that he was a lion didn't change the fact that she loved him. Eventually she convinced him to make her a lion like him and they took each other as mates.
Life went well for a while until the world went to war and William was send over to France to fight in a war that he would never return from. Charlotte never learned the details of his death, only having received a package with his dog tags, but she could feel it inside of herself that he was truly gone. She couldn't stand to live in the home that they had shared without him and sold their home, uprooting herself once more and moving to Savannah, Georgia.
It didn't take long for her to fall in with the local Pride and slowly start moving up the ranks once she had become established in the city.
