Vaethor Storm

Vaethor is the spitting image of a Valyrian: tall, strong, with pale skin and gleaming silvery hair. He lacks the usual violet eyes; his are a dark green.

He also lacks the usual cold and aloof Valyrian manner: he is gregarious and warm, with smallfolk and nobles alike. He counts knights, nobles and even carpenters and smiths as his closest friends.

His birth is shrouded in mystery and rumor, but it is clear that his mother was Lady Alana Dondarrion, sister of Lord Dondarrion. It is rumored that during a victory feast after the defeat of a Dornish raiding party, Aegar became quite drunk, and raped Lady Alana. She gave birth to the boy, then went off and joined the Silent Sisters, leaving him in the care of the maester of House Dondarrion.

Aegar was content to leave the boy at Blackhaven, in the care of others, and did not acknowledge the child as his own. That changed, however, when vengeful Tyroshi nobles paid mercenaries to abduct the child, hoping to use the boy as a hostage against Aegar. Aegar's Kingsguard rescued the boy in a daring raid, and Aegar had the boy returned to King's Landing, where he could be raised as a prince, albeit a bastard one.

Trained by the finest knights of Westeros, Vaethor is an excellent fighter in his own right. He has loyally served his father, helping to deal with bandits and rebels, often using his charm to defuse situations before they turn violent.

His victories, and his heritage as a Stormlander, have caused some to start calling him 'Stormfyre,' a name he does not argue against.

Some whisper that he aims to claim the throne, or that Aegar plans to legitimize him as his heir. Vaethor, however, does not tolerate such nonsense, and in fact foiled a plot by Lord Rosby to depose Aegar and install Vaethor on the throne in his place.
