Overall Appearance:  Mary considers herself pretty but overall average in her appearance She was never one of the popular pretty girls but she had her share of admirers while in high school. Her body has some curves to it all within proportion to her shorter height. Mary tends to wear shoes with a heel to make herself feel and look taller than her 5' 4"  self really is. Mary has learned over the years how to ascent what she has to make herself look more appealing and in her mind beautiful. She likes to draw attention to her lips when she's wearing her glasses and when she's out on the town and the glasses are safe at home she draws attention to her blue grey eyes making them pop out against her soft peaches and cream skin.

Being a wolf once a month means that Mary is far more active than your average genetics student would be. While in high school Mary played tennis and swam on the schools swim team and when the weather permits she still enjoys both sports as a way to help burn off any extra energy her beast sends her way as well as a way to keep anyone from wondering how she can eat a whole pizza herself and seem to never gain a pound. This means that there are some athletic muscles under her soft skin but she doesn't appear overly athletic.

Hair color: Blonde
Hair Style: shoulder length with lots of wave

Clothing: In class and at home Mary loves to be comfortable in a pair of jeans and a flirty top, when working in the lab she tries to be a bit more professional with a nice blouse and some slacks or skirt.
Character Model: Emily  Bett Rickards

Basic Personality: Mary is a bit cold when it come to first impressions, she likes to get to know people a bit before opening herself up to them and even once she makes a friend Mary seems to have a sort of nonchalant attitude toward said friendships. This is more a defensive mechanism then anything and it's so deeply rooted into her that Mary doesn't even realize it herself. Being shunned by people she thought loved and cared about her is one of her greatest fears and her subconscious leads her to think that if she isn't super close to anyone they can't hurt her. consciously Mary puts it all off on her obsession with genetics partially the way the lycanthrope disease affects a persons genetic code.  When working on a project Mary can be accused of having tunnel vision, staying late into the night starting down the barrels of her microscope.

She does have a fun side  where she will let her hair down and kick back a few shots and laugh with friends and pack mates. Mary loves getting lost in a sea of bodies at a club, her acute senses being so stimulated by all the bodies in a small place that they sort of go numb and she can pretend that that's what it's like to be normal.

Merits: Focused and determined great at keeping secrets

Flaws: Cold and distant with a bit of a tunnel vision problem

History: Mary was born and raised  just outside of Green Bay, She had an average childhood if a bit overprotected. Her parents, John and Anna had tried for years to conceive  before finally having Mary.  Her early years were that of any toddlers family dotting on her play dates and such. Her mother was always a bit of a health nut insisting the family always get their vaccinations and flu shots, that their food be organic , and vitamins were a must take. When she was about 6 years old doctors began promoting a vaccine against the new disease that was sweeping across the headlines, lycanthropy. The idea was simple just like a flu shot, if the virus was weakened and then introduced to the body the immune system would be able to fight it off and you would be safe from infection from any strain of the disease.  Mary's mother insisted that the family be vaccinated though John felt that it was a bit of a risk, after all how likely where they to ever come into contact with the disease. Then it happened, on the way home from viewing Christmas lights one evening the family witnessed a horrific car accident, her father rushed to help the man who had been thrown through his windshield but the man screamed that he not be touched. It turned out he was a carrier of lycanthropy and he didn't wish to have the good samaritan become infected via his blood. Her father watched the man nearly bleed to death unable to help for fear of becoming infected. The next day the family was immunized.  They thought everything was fine and life went on.

And everything was fine till Mary hit puberty, she began to feel very strange and everything seemed to make her emotions run high.  Anna began to become concerned and took the girl to the doctor thinking that something was wrong with the amount of estrogen  the young girls body was now producing. What the test results showed however was that Mary was infected with lycanthropy. It seemed that the vaccine she'd been give as a child was not from the same batch her parents had received and had been in fact a bad batch.  A CNA who was also a member of the local wolf pack leaked the girls results to the Ulfric who approached the family the next day about helping Mary with the change. Her parents still in shock over the news  agreed and Mary went to stay with the man, Ben and his wife, Tonie, for a few day during the time of the full moon.

When she returned home her parents seemed distant and were no longer as comforting to their daughter as they once were. On her second night home Mary could hear her mother crying about how her little had become the very thing she was trying to protect her from.  Things were strained in the O'Connor house for the next several months, Mary going to stay with the Ulfric and his wife the week of every full moon and her parents seeming to be more and more distant each time she came home. She confided to the pack's vargamor that it seemed her parents were more like strangers than family now the wise woman passed this along to Tonie who made an even larger effort to offer Mary guidance both as a teenage girl and as a wolf. A year after her first turn it was decided that Mary no longer needed to spend the whole week with her other family merely the night of the full moon, her parents took the news in stride it seemed and the pack felt content that her parents had finally come to terms with the fact that they had infected their daughter.

Yet fate was not that kind to Mary, after returning home from a weekend trip to the Dells with some friends Mary found that her parents had changed the locks on the house and refused to open the door when she knocked. Not wanting to cause a scene  Mary walked the 5 block to the Ulfric's home with her small suitcase behind her. When she told them the locks were changed and no one answered the door when she knew they were home the couple insisted that she stay with them for the rest of her spring break. Unknown to Mary  that night Ben and his Skoll went to her home and demanded an answer from her parents. The pair said that Mary wasn't their little girl anymore she was a monster and they couldn't have a monster living under their roof. The pair collected Mary's school things and some clothes and told her parents to have the rest of the girls things ready  by the end of the week. The was no denying that her parents had disowned her but Ben and Tonie did the best they could to soften the blow for the 13 year old girl. Within a month after kicking her out her parents left town, informing her school that Ben and Tonie were her guardians for the remaining school year. Instead of acting out Mary seemed to just accepted her parents disowning of her  and threw herself into her schoolwork. Her young mind realising that she couldn't fix her family but maybe she could learn enough to stop it from happening to someone else's.

Mary came to love Ben and Tonie like they were her true parents and the pack was her aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her  years in high school were rather uneventful  she took as many biology and chemistry classes as she could. and joined both the swim team and tennis team.  Her foster parents always in the crowd cheering her on. When Mary graduated she did so with a full ride to NMU for biochemistry, specifically genetics.  She petitioned  and was accepted into Marquette's local wolf pack with ease. Mary ran with the pack on full moons but still considered the pack back in Wisconsin her real pack. However when she moved off campus into a small apartment with a fellow student and pack mate she stopped retuning home and stayed in Marquette year round to fast track her studies.  Mary still returns home for the holidays but feels that taking classes year round will help increase her chances  when it comes time to transfer to continue on for her Masters and Doctorate work.

The recent events in the city have resulted in lots of phone calls from home making sure she's safe and telling she can come home if she wants to. It has also put her pack on the move, no longer being pushed to the side by the felines the wolves have begun to try and claim more territory and power within the city and as a standard werewolf Mary doesn't have any real options but to follow the alphas lead.

Living or dead Family: John and Anna O'Connor alive, Ben and Tonie Berckhart
