Kobal has always been tall for his age (though lean), and he yearns to prove his readiness and ability as a brave of the Bison clan.  Sometimes in his eagerness he acts before thinking matters through fully, but for now things have always worked out in the end.  While he most wants to prove himself as a warrior, somehow he's picked up a facility in dealing with others.  Having grown up in the relative privilege of a prosperous family, but as the son of the second wife, he has an easy going manner.

He has a slight limp in his left leg, a result of a fight with a leaping bear in a cave, and a scar on his right shoulder due to a fight with a second leaping bear.  His front teeth as missing as a result of a later battle.

A Mastery rune is burned onto his forehead, the touch of Waha.

An initiate of Thunder Bird and Waha, he is a son of Colnar Three Steps, a Waha elder.  His mother is Faibeth, second wife of Colnar.  Colnar's other two wives are Bright Note (first wife) and Nama Len (third wife).

Tarabula Lightfoot is his grandfather

Tarnessh Listens-To-Silence is his half-brother (by Nama Len).

The family is well off, with a herd of 120 bison. His bison is Black Hoof.  His animal familiar is a manul cat Haaro.

His first wife was Jella, daughter of the Kelab Besi, chieftain of the Red Thorn bison clan.  She was killed when possessed by a scorpion man spirit.

Married now to Halfrid Quickeye, eldest daughter of Wiley Ko, chieftain of the Black Shields clan.
