Dark-haired, enigmatic, lovely -- each of these conclusions may be drawn from the handful of long-forgotten portraits of Sand in Castle Amber.  Unsupported rumors and gossip claim she was a great soldier; other versions label her a skilled sorceress.  Most suggest she was fiercely devoted to her brother, Delwin.

As with most things in Amber, the truth likely rests somewhere in-between.  Besides which, it's not like there are definitive records in the library to tell her tale.  Right?

Of course, Sand isn't around to confirm or deny anything...assuming she even would.
