Dame Zriina vit Jiirim, Kaptiina of the Halcyon

Appearance: Thick, curly flame-red hair falls untamed down the petite Zriina's back. Like her people, she is pale of skin and like her sister her eyes are dark emerald green. She dresses finely while at court, but otherwise wears the clothing of a sea captain: leather breeches and a matching vest over a simple white shirt, sturdy boots and a hat to shield the sun. She carries a three-pronged dagger at her belt as well as a curved sword.

Personality/Reputation: Zriina is beloved by the people, in part due to her charitable efforts and the fact that she regularly takes the orphans of High Friij out onto the sea and teaches them lifelong skills to help them rise out of poverty. But despite her kindness, she is known to have a nasty temper and to be quite deadly with her weapons.

History: The last child of the former Panjandrum Vrtaaj, Zriina's birth was mired in tragedy, for it took the life of her beloved mother. The child's father put no blame upon her head, but instead grew even closer to her, favouring her above all his other children. He indulged her interest in the sea and in weapon's training and raved about her talent in the healing arts to all who would listen. When she was thirteen, Vrtaaj built his daughter the finest ship that High Friij had ever seen. At age sixteen, she assumed captaincy, running goods along the south coast and even mounting explorations out to the east and to the hostile north.

Zriina spends most of her time on the water, where she is known as the Lady of the Calm Winds, for her ship rarely finds itself in a storm and has not once been damaged. After her father fell ill, Zriina stayed by his side for weeks, but eventually returned to her ship and sailed off, claiming that she would seek a cure in the islands to the east. She was gone over a year and brought back all manner of exotic plants, foods and objects, but nothing she concocted had an impact on her father's condition. He was now in and extended coma, waking only briefly a few times a year.

Frigiit's power grab met with no resistance from Zriina, who seemed content to bow to her sister and continue to run goods to other parts of High Kand. After Frigiit fell ill, Zriina's whereabouts have remained unknown.
