Book 1
Humility has never been one of Aravashnial's defining personality traits. Despite his relatively short time in the secretive demon-banishing order of the Riftwardens, he considers himself one of the most knowledgeable Riftwardens in Kenabres. Aravashnial is also somewhat of a conspiracy theorist and always has a number of outrageous theories brewing though getting him to speak on them is a matter of time and effort. He is, however, well regarded among his fellows as a talented and courageous wizard nevertheless. Having been blinded during the initial attack on Kenabres by a glancing blow from the Storm Tyrant's whip, the Heroes of Kenabres helped him through the underground to safety where he recovered his sight through divine restoration.

Book 2
After being reunited with his mentor and current leader of the Riftwarden order, Quednys Orlun, Aravashnial has found himself relegated back to the role of student. However, this doesn't stop him from careful analysis of the demonic forces Terendelev's Triumph faces and generation of future strategies that get passed on through Quednys. Eager to do his part and advance his learning enough to take a hand in closing the Worldwound, he does his best to learn every iota of information about the foes of the Fifth Mendevian Crusade as possible.
