Arthur Wyndham-Dare is the director of the Roanoke Society, a genealogical research group seeking those who are descended from the lost colony of Roanoke and the Croatan tribe. Most people write the society off as a group of crackpots, which is fine with Arthur, as it helps conceal the real purpose of the society -- locating nascent mystics and providing them with protection, privacy, and training while at the same time protecting Drake City from supernatural threats that the residents remain blissfully unaware of.
