The Brotherhood of the Third Eye is an alternative religion (cult) that seeks the special ones (generally those with psychic potential) to join with them and find enlightenment (brainwashing). The most enlightened among the brothers and sisters undergo a special rite to open their third eye and unlock their true potential (by being possessed by a nightmare from the spirit realm of Onerios). Once the initiation is complete, the Brother is a joyous and wise guide on the path (brainwashed and crazy, trying to make other people brainwashed and crazy).
