Kanti Wapun

Name: Kanti Wapun
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Hair: Long and dark.
Eyes: Brown
Distinguishing Marks: Birthmark that looks a little like a crescent moon on the nape of her neck. Brand on her right shoulder of an arrowhead. Scar on her back slightly to the left (behind the heart) in the shape of an eagle which is slightly purplish as it's a phot po. Two curved scars on her left hip. A tattoo formed of tiny blue dots in the shape of a feather curved around her right ankle. Various other small scars and freckles.
General Appearance: While many of her tribe wear their hair loose Kanti prefers to keep hers braided, partly to symbolise the self-restraint she must maintain in acting for her people rather than herself, partly to expose the birthmark on the back of her neck, which is considered a mark of Kreye. Kanti wears a buckskin dress with beads across the shoulders and hem with a thick beaded belt and sturdy knee high moccasin boots. She always carries a satchel style bag and a hunting knife.

Personality: Kanti tries very hard to be all things as needed by her people. She carries herself with confidence and pride in her tribal identity, strives to be patient and to consider things carefully but to act decisively once she has made her decision. She will often seek advice from those she trusts and from the Ogunwe as well as listening carefully to her instincts. She has been raised with a firm belief that she will have a part to play in shaping the future of her tribe and that much may be asked of her to secure it, she takes this very seriously.
Sexual Preference: She hasn't really considered it much, having been too busy for romance thus far, but assumes she would probably be straight if she had the time.
House: Tribal Envoy of the Mi'Kmac Tribe from the Aprann territory.

About: Kanti was marked by Kreye before her birth, and so her parents had always known she would be special. She was raised among the other children of the Aprann, encouraged to learn all she could through both study and play. The pwo came to the village when she was thirteen on the same day as Kanti's first cleansing blood began and everyone believed Kanti would be chosen to become a priestess, but that was not the future the pwo had seen.
Kanti was told that she must prepare during these days of cleansing and leave when they ended to travel the territories of the tribe and learn of all its peoples, their needs, their skills, their hearts. One day the Ogunwe would have need of her, she would be called on to face great trials with the fate of the tribe at stake and only by dedicating herself to her people and all that they could teach her would she be prepared. Five days later, when the bleeding stopped, a travelling trader was passing through their town and Kanti left with him to begin her travels.
She has spent time in each of the territories and while she is by no means an expert herself she has experienced enough to know what an expert can achieve and what skill goes into those achievements. She has hunted moose in the harsh winter snow, built a canoe, sewn clothing, trained in hand to hand fighting, experienced a possession, assisted with birth, hoed a field and generally crammed as if her world depended on it, because she believes it does.
