As a youngling, Simon showed an unnatural ability for the arcane.  The elders of his tribe nurtured this ability, but Simon struggled to control his immense power.

After accidentally releasing too many random effects while practising, almost obliterating the school with a level 3 fireball, Simon was exiled.

Continuing to wander in the wilderness, Simon has ended up in Verdee with no plan and little gold.
