Fanglin is an athletic woman of small stature. Her pale skin is nearly blue, and her hair and eyes are bluish-gray, and her hair sometimes blows in the wind even during calm weather. She wears dark-colored, loose-fitting clothes and carries a shortbow on her back. A mask usually covers the lower half of her face.

Fanglin was raised in a secretive monastery which taught her the arts of stealth, spying, and combat. The monastery was destroyed in an earthquake, and Fanglin's master is dead. She has set out into the world to seek her fortune as a vagabond and spy-for-hire. She strives to treat others fairly at all times, to right injustices, and to protect those who are abused by others in positions of authority.
