<img src="http://static.gamesradar.com/images/sfx/2012/04/abbey_lee_kershaw_mad_max.jpg "align="right">Wearing her hair somewhat longer than most mechwarriors, even other women, Illiyana is often mistaken for a regular member of the military, or even a civilian, by those not very good at looking for the more subtle clues.  The way her long limbs move in easy coordination rather than the somewhat clumsy way many civilians move, or the ready attention of her gaze, or even her near total lack of reaction to events fast enough to catch most people off guard all tell the story of training in both physically and mentally stressful situations, yet somehow she has managed to maintain something of a lighthearted attitude.

When not dressed for combat, and thus stripped down to only the essentials when she folds her long but flexible frame into the cockpit of her Mercury Illiyana tends to dress fashionably but also with an eye to sensible function, or at least range of motion.
