Gyrozil

Cold, ruthless, grim faced, and a dedicated and unswerving killer.

These are all words that would completely fail to describe Gyro. Curious, optimistic, and more friendly than is healthy in the Outer Rim would be more accurate. He is a dark green Verpine, standing at 190cm tall, though his racial habit of a slight crouch, as if to spring to safety, drops him marginally under six foot. Often wearing tatty trousers and a shirt under a light leather duster, with pockets containing useless trinkets. A spare six mm bolt, a snapped pencil, a used stub from a spaceport storage depot...

Gyro has a deeply curious mind, and his most prized possession is not his favourite gun, it is a simple Datapad with photos and short films of some of the wilderness and creatures that he has seen in his travels in the Galaxy. Like an interstellar tourist. Reliving these moments of joyful discovery and experiences of nature are what keeps Gyro sane, in a cold and unforgiving universe. When planet side, he is eager to experience cultures outside his own, however his optimistic naivety can land him in trouble.

His life changed after a trade deal went wrong on Nar Shadaa. His hive team were killed in a an urban shoutout with three Kubaz mercenaries. Only Gyro escaped, he assumed the killings were part of the Kubaz desire to hunt and eat insects, but how the hell this resulted in a Hutt Kajilic putting a price on his head he is not certain. But his desire to claim revenge on the Kubaz, and his unwillingness to bring this traumatic experience back to the hive, has set him to travel the stars apart of his kin. Taking on the role of a bounty hunter has so far enabled him to keep one step ahead of the rest, knowing where you are a wanted man can be very useful indeed.

Gyro is quite capable of hunting and killing, but it is not something that gives him pleasure. Indeed it is frequently just a cover. His upbringing in the Roche asteroid field, within the Hive community and its pacifistic ideals, has given him a deep respect for life. Truth be told he prefers to steal vehicles, break them for parts and sell them on, rather than kill for money. Signing on with a smuggling crew means he doesn't have to use his blaster often, and mostly in defence.
Signing on with a crew also deals with his big issue travelling through the Galaxy. He is acutely aware of the absence of his hive, and the lack of voices in his mind, this loneliness and estrangement has led him to look for close relationships amongst the other species he travels with. To fill the void Gyro relies heavily on the emotional support of these friends. In contrast to the traditional solitary bounty hunter, he prefers to work as a team, often needing the validation of those he is close to.
