Lucy Schmidt is a graphic designer, and one of Zari's lovers.

They met at a Starbucks in Baltimore, and Lucy managed to spill Zari's coffee.  After buying her a new one, Lucy asked if she could buy something else for the stranger.  During their date, Zari made it perfectly clear that she didn't believe in monogamy -- citing both bad experiences with it in the past as well as good experiences with polyamory, she went to lengths to ensure Lucy wouldn't be caught off guard or have any expectations.  Lucy accepted the challenge and confirmed she wouldn't get too attached to Zari.
