Lord Raymond

Havel Raymond is a minor lord of dwarven heritage and generally good rapport. He travels fairly frequently, having little estates set up here and there, but because of his agricultural expertise he does mostly stay in the Wetlands and Valleys of Wind. Some might recognize his sigil of an open hand with the sun in the palm.

Lord Raymond operates by collecting and sharing information from his travels, primarily what's going on locally and where opportunities lie. If there is upcoming work in another town, or need for a certain skill set, he'll get people where they're needed. He tries to get people in contact and establish connections, big or small, facilitating trade, and he dabbles a little in merchantry himself and things outside of just agriculture. He'll also do favors for people with the expectation that they'll be repaid somehow, usually by helping someone else for him.

Rumors have spread of Lord Raymond being mentally disabled. Those that have met him personally can confirm that there is something beyond just social awkwardness, plus some anxiety and a bit of an eating problem. His good nature and effectiveness as an organizer lead people to overlook this though, plus the occasional evidence of why not to push the nice ones.

The Raymond family was actually once a name to be feared, dealing heavily with the military and enforcing with an iron fist. Following the family tradition, Havel was taught the art of combat, but because of his handicap he was scorned by his father. When all of his kin were killed during the war though, the mantle begrudgingly fell upon him. Some theorize that he tries to undo the damage his family had done before.

Sword Hand - Ser Bradly Barone (DECEASED)

Lord Raymond has in his service a Sir Bradley Barone, a human veteran of the Peas'mak War. While far from evil, the man does harbor some hatred in his heart, often times resorting to violence. Sensing his good intentions in need of tempering, Lord Raymond bailed him out of trouble once and into his employment, and since then Sir Barone has been fiercely loyal. While he was not well known from the war, and he does not cut the image of a fierce warrior like some others, it would be a fatal mistake to underestimate the Sword Hand of Lord Raymond. The Lord keeps him in check, but does sometimes brandish him as a threat, and occasionally sets him loose entirely.

Ser Sandor Stoneham

Standing tall and with a face like stone, Ser Sandor “Stoneface” Stoneham is often the brains and voice of Lord Raymond and leader of the rest of his men. In contrast to the easier going Lord, he’s a hardass, having served as a commander in the war. They say he only smiles when he swings the sword, but he has a good sense of dry humor, if a bit mocking at times.
