Lt (jg) 'Fast Tony' Gazzo

"Fast Tony" Gazzo grew up the second son of Boss Gazzo on the Lower East Side Territory. He was mechanically inclined as a youth and as a teen apprenticed as a wheelman, but his real passion was engines. He hopped up vehicles for his Dad's mob, and decided that the mob life was too sedate(!) and boring, so he applied to join Starfleet. At the Academy, he joined the athletics team but washed out in Boxing, as his style was more suited to barroom brawls. He did, enjoy Martial Arts and became proficient in it, using his innate cunning to his advantage.

Tonio is a swarthy Iotian resembling Earth's Mediterranean inhabitants. He is of average height and build. His speech is peppered with archaic colloquialisms reminiscent of Roaring '20's Chicago Mobsters, caling women "babes", "dames" or "broads" depending on his attitude towards them. Shuttles are "flivvers", and phasers are "rods", "gats" or more commonly "heaters". Alcohol is "booze", synthehol is "bathtub gin" and drinking establishments are "speakeasies". Superior officers are "Boss". Security Johann Schmidt is a "flatfoot" who he thinks is always trying to put Tony in the "klink".
