Odysseas Dallas

Odysseas Dallas

Sex: Male
Gender: Male
Age at the time of departure: 55

Appearance
Barely looking a day over fourty, a good workout routine and a lucky roll of genes have rewarded Ody with the physique and looks of a man over a decade younger. Of course, having access to the proper medication made sure he didn't lose much to the ravages of time. With a tanned complexion and a rugged handsomeness, the only thing that betrays the encroaching years with a first glance is the light grey, almost white shock of hair kept in an unkempt ponytail, and a beard of a slightly darker hue. His warm brown eyes stand out from his slightly wild face, rarely showing anything else other than kindness and intelligence- eyes that rarely show the iron this man is made of.

Personality
Ever since he could remember himself, one word described Ody: "daddy". Despite having no children of his own (a result of a long string of failed romances), his broad competence on many fields as well as his tendency to put aside anything to help his friends- or even acquaintances on occassion- solidified this outlook. He's a charming fellow who doesn't hide his protectiveness, and his flippancy hides irony behind a friendly veneer of teasing. Deep down, however, even though he has good intentions, he's a ruthless man who cares little about the means to achieve them.

Background
Ody grew up in a pre-economic crisis environment, in the typical safety bubble that was commonplace before the economy nearly crashed in the first decade of the new millenium. He stumbled around to find purpose in life, his only true passions being martial arts and gaming, until he eventually found his niche in being a teacher of the former and a purveyor of the latter.
As he grew older, however, things started to fall apart. No relationship could hold him for long enough to even consider making a family; what little money he managed to acquire merely afforded him a comfortable lifestyle and nothing else. The glory or wonder he sought was nowhere to be found. His wanderlust, an ever-present beast gnawing at the back of his head, sharpened its teeth and waited patiently. After two dozen years of simply training, keeping in shape, and even looking for a way to extend his life hoping something interesting would happen in his life, the chance simply presented itself.
From one of the many, many people he kept in touch with, he learned of the Expansion project. He wouldn't let this slide, not by a long shot. While money was never something he really bothered about, gathering contacts and getting to know people in places was one of the things he was good at. Eventually, after pulling the necessary strings and cashing in some pretty high favors, he secured a place through the Tertiary Solutions Vice President-an old lover from a long, long time ago. She got him in, and that's all he ever really wanted.
So without further ado, he gathered what he could carry in this new life, kissed everyone goodbye without feeling the slightest hint of remorse or trepidation, and went into that pod with a smile large enough to swallow a galaxy.

Stats

Strength: Above Average (d10). Ody keeps working out despite his advancing years, but he never had an impressive physique.
Agility: Above Average (d10). He used to be famous for his speed and dexterity, but advancing age takes its toll. Don't tell him that.
Health: Average (d12). Never the healthiest of people, he has simply managed to keep ahead of the curve- barely.
Knowledge: High (d8). An overabundance of wits and a pretty sharp intellect have carried him far into this world- and far enough to know he's no genius.
Sanity: Very High (d6). Unshakeable. Iron-willed. Unfazed. Unbreakable. Put all of these together, throw in a few more for good measure, stir, and you might start to grasp the sheer stubborness and tenacity of this eccentric individual. He'd swim into space if he had to.
Perception: Above Average (d10). One of the biggest transformations in his life was becoming a hawk-eyed adult from a bumbling child.
Luck: Below Average (d20). He'll tell you that hard work and stubborness is the most important thing in life. Well, it is for him, since his luck is miserable in ways people have not began to discover yet. Luck rarely screws him over twice- always, the Lady finds new ways to torment him.
