Thomas is better again. Or so he is told. He has even started working in his job again, teaching math and physics at a senior high school in Bremen. He hardly ever sees the Winter Beast anymore. Still, it cannot hurt to cover all the mirrors.

Thomas Velden is a lanky man in his late thirties, with black disheveled hair and a wry grin. He does not spend that much thought on clothing and usually defaults to casual wear in black and grey. He is intelligent and soft spoken and well liked among his pupils and colleagues - though naturally people are a bit cautious after the troubles last year and the diagnosis of dissociative fugue.

So what happened? Thomas wonders himself now and then. He escaped death and the Winter Beast by using skills he scraped out of his soul and dark fairy tales. The details are blurry. Or the doctors are right and he went crazy for a while, can happen to everyone really.
Crazy or not, at times he can still feel the chilling breath of the Winter Beast or imagine it stalking him from beyond a mirror, and his heart stops. He always carries an unimposing small leather rucksack along, containing his tools and hard won protections. He is armed now and the Winter Beast will not catch him easily again.
