Anne "AJ" Jouquete Rourke is the rake daughter of Commander Lyle Tiberius Rourke. She is beautiful in the way a bolt of lightning, approaching typhoon or a rising tidal wave was beautiful. Her sailor  mother was long gone and a mystery. Some even think AJ washed up out of the beach surf at her fathers feet as a screaming babe given the speed with which her mother vanished and the way she has taken to the ocean herself. Com. Rourke was a drunken bastard now eighteen years later. He had kept it together the first couple years, heartbroken and incarcerated. He carved out a chunk of the island interior for himself and his exiled minions.

AJ was a pirate girl like her mom; though she tried to be as Military as possible at home. She was not the Boy her father wanted and she looked like the Mother that left him so no matter what she did he rejected her and demeaned her.

Outside the Compound, as the residents call her fathers Fortified town, AJ was known as a wild child and daredevil. She never met a bet she wouldn't take... but she did usually win them if only because she had bigger nuts than most of the grown soldiers on the island.
