Standing 6' 3" tall, this tan skinned man has a curious feel about him,and he has a large scar on his face which resulted from brave behaviour years before. Jackson has very short, light brown hair which is styled with a military cut. He has strong arms, a muscular torso with a well-defined waist, broad hips, and well toned legs. His face is angular with a big nose and thin lips. His brown eyes are prominent and he has thick eyebrows. When not in his Forest Ranger uniform, he can be seen in rugged outdoor brands like North Face or LL Bean.

Several tattoos dot his body. His left arm is wreathed in the Canadian Flag melting into beautiful mountains. On his right chest is the Royal Mounted Canadian Police heraldry.

Personality:
Jackson is that Canadian that stereotypes are made from. The man is friendly, honest to a fault and laid back. More then happy to help a stranger even when not on duty. Full of stories from his years of time in the Canadian wilderness and as a Mountie. Despite his good side, he can be very protective of those he loves and very stubborn in his ways. Once angry Jackson becomes a grizzly bear that is hard to calm down.

A avid outdoorsman Jackson tends to be a bit rougher then usual around the edges. Oft preferring the company of animals over people. Time as a police officer has made him quite jaded towards human nature. Finding nature so much simpler to understand.

History:
A strange addition to Stillwater, Jackson Armstrong is a Canadian expat. In his home country he served in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the Yukon. Born to two Mounties the Armstrong line went back to the foundation of the RCMP. With a college degree in law Jackson followed his ancestors footsteps. It was only right and his parents knew where he would go.

Serving in RCMP in a small town Jackson built up a good career. It was not anything out of the ordinary. However he enjoyed the work even through the dark times. All the little moments of light made up for a lot. It looked like a life long career after a promotion.

Meeting Amber, a fellow Mountie, changed his life for the better. Both were veterans of the force and they worked well together in their personal lives. Each able to help the other handle the everyday stress of the job. After about five years they decided to tie the knot.

Again life changed for Jackson one late night. On the bedside table his phone buzzed indicating a call from Amber. It wasn't unusual since they would often talk during her breaks. Picking it up Jackson heard distress and pain in her voice. It didn't take long for his sleep fogged brain to kick into drive, she was heavily wounded. All she said before the line went dead was "I love you.".

Frantically he jumped in his truck and phoned one of his buddies. He was told about the call and to keep his distance. However love blinded Jackson as he pulled up to the crime scene. Several of his fellow Constables had to held him back but he saw enough t prove the worse had happened. Slumped against the side of his truck the man watched his fiance be pulled out of the scene under a sheet.

They never caught the killers. It was a case of wrong place, wrong time. After her funeral Jackson retreated from life and disappeared into the Rockies after his resignation. After a year or two he came down and found a job in Canada Parks. Unable to return to his old job even though they would of welcomed him back.

A exchange program between Canada Parks and US Forestry was launched. Seeing a opportunity to escape from the skeletons in his closest Jackson volunteered. The Department stuck him in Stillwater's National Forest. He currently lives in the Ranger Station despite having a house assigned to him. Despite his isolation the Ranger has always remained a friendly face in the woods. Many hikers, hunters and other outdoor enthusiast know him to be fair.
