Earendil, son of Callon, was born to a prosperous family in Rivendell. From birth he was adept with a bow, and at an early age began to accompany elvish travelling parties into the wilds surrounding Rivendell. After Callon failed to return from one such travelling party into the High Pass, Earendil vowed to seek out his father's murderers and enact revenge. This began a long conquest against the goblins of Goblintown, and after much tribulation Earendil found himself no closer to determining his father's true killers. Disheartened, he began to act as a guide through the pass for travelers headed east, following in his father's footsteps. When not acting as a guide, he wanders the wilds around the great Elvish city of Rivendell, haunted by his past, and too ashamed of his failure to return for any extended period of time. Even at the young age of 612, Earendil already feels the call of the sea. His mind dreams of the shores of the Undying Lands, and he feels a great desire to travel west, in the hopes of finding the peace he so desperately seeks. He has decided that after this job he will begin the journey west, leaving behind the realm of man, and any hopes of avenging his father, forever.
