Cormac Tunnelly may be the richest Hobbit in Bree and from the prominent Tunnelly family of Staddle. Yet, he is somewhat estranged from that clan at the moment and grandmother Tunnelly herself. Disagreements upon propriety some say as Grandmother uses the word eccentric to describe him outside The Great Simial and absolutely uncouth inside it!

Cormac is a rarity for sure. He has been gone on an adventure or three and is on good terms with the dwarfs of Ered Luin, whom they call Cormac friend. Cormac proudly wears the short sword and corslet of mail these dwarfs forged for him. The robust Hobbit excels at archery and swordplay. One can often find him sparring with this or that Warden of Bree much to the amusement of those men at times.

Most claim that Cormac's wealth comes from his adventures outside of Bree. In fact, besides Bilbo Baggins in the Shire, no one is more famous... or infamous for his adventures, but of this, the Hobbit is very closed-mouthed about. Yet, Cormac uses his wealth and talents to benefit Bree and its well being. Some say he is friends with Gandalf the wizard, The Reeve of Bree, many of Brees Wardens, The Captain of that body Meneldir (who gave him an honorary red feather in his cap of a Warden), and the well to do Heathertoe family and their eldest son Erling.
