Fortune has not been part of Atlis path. Though It could have been! Though, it should have been. His grandfather Agnarr was the owner of one of the grandest trading houses in all of Esgaroth, but unfavourable and shadowy events made business come to a halt; a string of misfortunes culminating with Smaug torching down the part of Esgaroth where Agnarr had his store and warehouses. With the rebuilding of the lake-town, Agnarr has started to regain some of his former wealth and power; but since Atlis father Asgeir is the black sheep of the clan, fond of drinking, poetry and investing in risky businesses as dwarfish toys, that gold will not be heading Atlis way anytime soon. Hence his travels, and hence his eager to become a rich man before the shadow gets its grip around Middle-Earth once more.
