Appearance: Commissar Jan Harlow can at times be called the picture of a Commissar, in his dramatic regalia he cuts a rather intimidating figure. Tall and made taller by a grand peaked cap with his shoulders broadened by emulates on his heavy great coat. With a rather sinister respirator mask upon his face, when standing at parade attention with his chainsword he looks capable. Most other times, he seems rather more relaxed...if one could call a Commissar relaxed.

Known Quantities: Jan Harlow is a recent transfer into the Dantek from a Segmentum headquarters somewhere after "sufficient recovery as to warrant a theater posting benefiting his record", he has the manner of a predatory Cheshire cat and is a surprisingly languid social maverick if a Commissar can be such a thing. He has been seen slouching, naping in odd places, and at times he does not wear the peaked cap and ornate coat of his station, especially during combat operations. He is over 180 centimeters tall, but seems rather thin for his height at under 70 kilos. He gives rather mixed signals, placing himself in trafficked locations and just watching the troopers go about their business but not seeking conversation or seemingly paying much attention to the goings-ons...

Rumored Background: His record is worthy of such a distinguished regiment, surviving a tour a siege campaign on a nocturnal world. He is even noted as having evacuated the Regimental Colonel by giving the woman his own gas mask to preserve command integrity. The gas attack has left him with a palid complexion and sensitive constitution as well as sensitive eyes.

Personality: Harlow is the sort to try and "amuse" himself even as he carries out his duties. He is as fanatical as any other Commissar, but he is more laid back in his day to day because he is easily bored.

Harlow seems rather unenergetic at times, drinking from a mug through an induction port in his respirator, overly languid which seems at odds with his presumably acceptable record and recent transfer.

Harlow at times appears to forego a full polished parade regalia, and as of his first theater operation with the Dantek appeared one could argue he was out of uniform at times.

Harlow seems to prefer concealing his face and head with either a full respirator mask, hoods, headwraps, and the like. It speaks to trying to keep himself sequestered from the world. So far not many people have seen his face.

The only time he was seen in full polished regalia was his initial arrival, since then he has lost some shine and polish...by a concerning degree if one were to think about it.
