Bishop Roger is the Bishop of Salisbury. A practical man of the cloth, Earl Roderick has come to trust in his counsel in many matters.

Bishop Roger is both wealthy and worldly, in a religious sort of way. Though his taste is minimalistic, eschewing the heavy gold and jewelry of many in his station, to the keen observer his clothes and accouterments are still very expensive, having been made of the finest materials and to the highest level of craftsmanship. He funds this through his income from the holdings of the church, including the church holdings of Amesbury and those around Sarum and Warminster, and the other numerous sources of church income.

He is well educated, widely read, and influential; he loves to travel to London for business and for people to know that he visits the capital frequently. He tends towards practicality when conflicts between the Earl and the church arises, and has been able to increase his influence in court because of that.
