Sir Lycus The Pious

Salisbury Knight

Born in Year 456

A warrior of simple knighthood, Sir Lycus is an obedient and practical-minded young man. At 22, he is the youngest knight of the Earl’s Court, having recently taken his father’s place, Sir Bralin, after his death during a Pictish raid, which left Lycus himself brutally disfigured.

Considered charming and dashing up until then, Sir Lycus does not seem as bothered by his appearance as others are. By far the most devout Christian among the Earl’s knights, Sir Lycus said he was saved from the burning inferno that was his father’s manner when an angel parted the flames and carried him out. Some believe his words; others think him mad.

Hailing from an extremely wealthy family, Sir Lycus has already proven himself generous beyond belief. He has donated a large part of his Estate not only to the British Church but also to his own kin and peasants. Adored by the common people, he’s been touted as more devout and faithful than most Bishops.

His modesty, generosity, and kind manners have greatly endeared to Lady Ellen, and in turn, to the Earl himself.

Sir Lycus is friendly to all but considers Sir Leo to be his prime companion in all things.

When is Salisbury or at Court, Sir Lycus can often be found debating the finer points of Christianity and Theology with Bishop Roger.
