Lady Angela McKinley

Character Name: Lady Angela McKinley

Age: 21

Physical Description: Lady Angela is a striking and aristocratic woman of 21 years. Slender and tall, she is often referred to as "willowy" given her swan neck and height. She has platinum blonde hair which reaches to the small of her back when unbound and violet eyes with flecks of gold. Her fingers are long and tapered and well-suited to her long practice with the piano and harpsichord. She is possessed of a musical voice in both speech and song and is a talented spinto lyric soprano.

Personality: Amongst strangers she is often thought of as distant or reserved but when amongst friends and her siblings she has a wicked, at time inappropriate, sense of humour. She takes her duties as the oldest sibling-in-residence quite seriously and often acts as a mother figure to her sister Mabel when Lady Elizabeth is attending to other duties. Whilst she is not particularly quick to anger, she can, when properly incited, exhibit a temper that is as commanding, and deadly as a thunderstorm, despite it being an icy anger. When truly furious the gold in her eyes seem to reflect light and she becomes very, very quiet, and very still though those who know what to look for will note the coiling of muscles, tensed to strike.

From the journal of Lady Angela McKinley - 15 Jan, 1915:

Word of Richard's plight (I refuse to believe my older brother dead) has hit the family quite hard and as cold as the Winter storms coming from the North. Mabel, in particular, has not taken it well, looking up to her older brother with such vigour as she does. I have to be strong for her sake as well as for the rest of the family though my heart is heavy. I know father, despite his outward show of stoicism, has taken the news of his first born son's...no, I shall not say it. We Mckinley's are bred from hearty stock and must act in a manner befitting our social standing. I smell the worry on George; he thinks himself inadequate to the task of ruling Wolfward if it comes to it. Father is already looking at him, as if weighing his fitness to assume the Earldom should it become necessary.

I also know father is entertaining possible suitors for my hand as well. He wishes to be ready should the fortunes of the family take a downturn so I fully expect to be brought into his parlour soon and given the talk, again, as to my responsibility to the family and the importance of a strong union. He will, however, not accept just any suitor given the age and prestige of our line as well as our...eccentricities. I stand ready to do my duty to family and manour though I fear the attentions of any suitor shall pale until we receive final confirmation of Richard's whereabouts. I like to think he is running through the forests of Germany, avoiding the Kaiser's troops and shall soon return to the front and back to his Command.

When next I change I shall raise my muzzle to the sky and howl to Mother Moon to keep him safe.

**a small area of ink is smudged here, as if by contact with some liquid**

I will remain strong and maintain my conviction that Richard shall be found safely whereupon Father will receive visitors from the War Office, soon telling us that he is returning home. I shall think on this and not lose hope. Not when my family needs my strength.
