Bio:
Randall James Johansen grew up wanting to be a race car driver- his stepdad took him to the local dirt track nearly every weekend, and the pair never missed a big race on TV. When he wasn't watching racing, he was working on cars with his stepdad. For his twelfth birthday, Randy's stepdad got his hands on a pair of track-side tickets for the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis. For a working class kid from rural Missouri, it was the score of a lifetime. The USAF Thunderbirds demonstration team performed a flyover prior to the green flag and that was nearly all she wrote. Young Randy decided on the spot that he wanted to be a fighter pilot instead of a race car driver. That dream lasted until lap 172 and a spectacular wreck that required the services of a Lifeflight helicopter. As the civilian medevac bird lifted off from the oil-stained racetrack, Randy changed his mind yet again. He was going to fly choppers.

That dream didn't quite come true. Flying choppers turned into flying on board choppers, as Randy's mediocre grades and lack of political connections meant he didn't qualify for any of the more direct routes to officer status in the U.S. Army. Determined to work his way into the cockpit, Randy enlisted as a 15T Blackhawk Helicopter Repairer right out of high school, then hustled up the pecking order to become a crew chief/door gunner slot on a UH-60. He spent the first phase of WWIII helping ferry troops, equipment, and casualties around Central Europe. When spare parts stopped arriving in theater and the avgas dried up, he found himself reassigned to a gun truck unit of the 5th ID.

Physical Appearance:
Randy resembles a slightly more hirsute Kurt Russel from the classic '80s adventure flick, Big Trouble in Little China, taking full advantage of Cajun Company's relatively lax personal grooming standards. He wears his red-brown hair and full beard longer than regulation. Randy managed to hold on to his sage green CWU-27/P Nomex coveralls (supplemented with an MA-1 Intermediate Flyer's Jacket, when it's cold) when his parent aviation unit shut down. He wears them during mounted ops, mostly because they're fireproof, surmounted by PAGST body armor. Otherwise, he wears standard woodland pattern BDUs and ALICE LBE.

Psychological Profile:
Cruelty: Low. Randy doesn't have a cruel bone in his body.

Loyalty: Moderate. Randy considers himself a patriotic American. The U.S. Army got him close to his dream of flying helicopters, so there's a sense of personal debt there. And, like most combat soldiers, Randy is fiercely loyal to his squad-mates.

Passion: Moderate. Randy loves choppers and cars.

Piety: Moderate. Randy's mom took him to church every couple of months. His grandma was swindled out of her life savings by a televangelist. Randy's conflicted about religion, and not particularly spiritual, but he does believe in a mostly-benevolent higher power which he calls God.

Sanity: High. Randy's a bit eccentric and can act impulsively, but he's usually rational, and he's perfectly sane.

Selfishness: Low. Randy lives for the ride, but he's not willing to screw someone else over to get what he wants.
