Background:
Stephany Emerson is an orphan. Stephany was told her mother, Debra Emerson, died giving birth to her and she became a ward of the state.  Stephany does not know who her father was only that her mother died in the employ of Emerson Electronics and she was sent to an orphanage under the company’s patronage as her ‘legal Guardian', apparently agreed to by her mother before she died.  Seven years ago Stephany manifested psionic powers which she kept secret.

Stephany has had very little love in her life and is quite bitter and cynical. She was certainly NOT satisfied with the answers her ‘legal Guardians’ gave her. So she decided to seek answers for herself. She was quite bright and was nick-named “Early-Bird” for her eagerness to learn eventually shortened to just ‘birdie’ by her schoolmates. Steph saw education as the key to her personal freedom and excelled in school earning a Journalism Scholarship to Empire State University.  Graduating she went to work under the cover of a ‘Freelance Journalist’ working for some paranormal investigator Rag-Magazine, a subtle way to use and master her powers investigating the paranormal. But it was just a means of small income to actually investigate Emerson electronics on the side, having gained her majority.

Steph was certain Emerson had goons following and observing her for unknown reason, perhaps they knew about her powers? So she began openly using her powers and sure enough several attempts to abduct her ensued.  So she turned her full power upon her ‘benefactors’ and eventually learned the horrid truth.

She learned her mother died due to experiments done to her chiefly involved with some Neuro-Rig experimentation ~ where her mind was held in stasis between being transferred into an artificial brain and her flesh body to see if the trauma spontaneously unlocked psionic powers. It worked but destroyed her mother’s mind as she manifested powerful psionic abilities while pregnant with her. Debra was inducted into the “Seer Network” as unit 4377 in a secret lab owned by Emerson Electronics.

That started her personal war with Emerson Electronics seeking out any information she could on people like her with mental powers and any other connections to Emerson trying to find their secret labs to see if her mother still lives in torment.  She will NEVER forgive or stop fighting Emerson for taking her mother from her or the cruel abusive experiments done on her and other potentially other psychics like her.  So she plays the constant cat and mouse game seeking to free and help other Psis from being exploited and find out who is behind these monstrous experiment at Emerson Electronics as the PSI-BIRD a play on her nick-name ‘Birdie’.
