Sharp eyed Derry is of average height and posses a lean figure.  She usually lets her red hair hang loose around her shoulders unless she’s expecting a fight, in which case she’ll restrain it in a wrap around braid.
Derry typically dresses in rougher clothes suitable for fighting and travel rather than the robes favored by some of her fellows.  Defiantly, she still wears the white hooded black cloak of her order, as if welcoming anyone who wants to try and  collect on her bounty.  Her ever present black iron shod quarterstaff is engraved numerous sigils making it friendly to being used as a magical tool as well as conveniently fireproof.
If she feels the need for a magical boost, Derry will paint magical sigils on her face, the sigils have the effect of granting her shorts bursts of speed and physical strength while at the same time adding an extra layer of intimidation (just for role play purposes/flavor text, there’s no actual stats or whatever involved).
G i f t s
Element Control: At short range, Derry can manipulate elemental energies.
Skilled Quarterstaff Fighter: Is there a more perfect weapon?  No my friend, no there isn’t.
Magic: She might not be the most skilled witch and a lot of the more subtle nuances might be lost on her, but she has The Gift and knows how to do more with it than light people’s faces on fire.
W e a k n e s s e s
Hunted: Those that burned her home know that their work remains unfinished.
Proud and stubborn: Derry still wears the black cloak and white hood, the symbol of her order.
Survivor’s Guilt/Anger: Derry can still vividly see every detail of every death she witnessed of those she was supposed to protect.  This could override her survival instinct and cause Derry to pick fights regardless of her ability to win in certain situations.
P e r s o n a l i t y
Derry hasn’t had any opportunity to sit down and put much thought into her situation so she might come across as a confused mess at first.  Is she running or is she on a suicidal crusade, does she want to find a new place to call home or does she want to restore her old order?  While she has a good sense of humor, but it’s on the dry side so it is hard to tell when she’s being serious and when she’s joking unless you know her.
H i s t o r y
Derry’s magical order was founded a century ago and focused on the study of the supernatural aspects of the world and personal enlightenment through meditation and silent reflection.  It wasn’t uncommon for members to take week or even weeks long periods of silence.  Of course there are always people who seek to rid the world of anything they see of as unnatural and so the Warrior’s guild was created in the order to keep the old castle safe from the occasional raids from either rival groups of practitioners seeking the Order’s store of artifacts and books or the Church, who sought to destroy those same treasures.  The castle was located in an extremely remote area of the mountains, with barely enough arable land to support a small nearby village and the castle itself.
Unfortunately, no matter how obscure you try to be, no matter how remote, eventually it seems, someone will try to take you down.  At first the raids were small, a few hit and run raids, not against the castle, but the village.  When the village turned against the Order for their inability to defend them from the raiders, the real attacks began.  The castle walls were ancient and the defenders though skilled were twenty five against a hundred mercenaries with a scattering of skilled inquisitors and witch hunters.
When the walls fell, the warriors guild evacuated those they could through a secret passage along with the most precious artifacts and books.  The warriors held the passage until only raiders came.  They made a fighting retreat into the tunnel before collapsing it on their attackers.
The gathered survivors knew that if the order was ever to survive, they’d have to disband until they were forgotten by the hunters.  So dividing up into groups of one or two, they split off vowing to some day reunite.
Badly injured, Derry was put into the care of a local hedge witch until such time as she could head out on her own.
A few weeks later Derry left the healer and headed out on her own, supporting herself as a bodyguard for rich merchants until the hunters found her again.  Exhausted from the constant attacks, she fled again, this time seeking a place where she hoped to be free for a time and maybe find survivors from her order - Wytchwood Hollow.

Hunted open Derry is being hunted by the witch hunters that attacked her order so maybe she has a bounty on her head?
Searching open She is on the lookout for surviving members of her order.
