History:
Born to Gregory and Larissa Laurent, Aliyah is an only child who was the apple of her father's eye. She had him wrapped around her little finger before she could walk and talk for herself. In her Dad's eye, she could do no wrong, so it fell on her mother Larissa to provide their daughter with the discipline all children need so that they don't grow up to be spoiled and selfish and a burden on society. Larissa did that, she played the heavy so that Gregory could stay Aliyah's hero all through her childhood. It was a tough job, but Larissa knew it was absolutely necessary and so she did it with love in her heart, always.
And then puberty struck and Aliyah discovered that she wasn't like all the other girls. She would rather date the other girls than the boys her age. She tried talking to her Daddy about this but he was not having it. He broke her heart when he threw her out on the street saying his little angel was not going to be dating girls and she could come back when she was ready to date the right gender and not a minute before that. Larissa was in a lot of pain for her only child, but she knew her girl was never gonna change and that she shouldn't have to, so she sent her baby girl to live with her older sister, Paula.

Living with her Aunt Paula was a lot different than living with her parents. Paula was a lot more permissive than her mom and Aliyah was able to get into things she couldn't do at home. She experimented with drugs with some of the stoners from her school and found she liked being high. It was a fun way to distract herself from her Daddy's anger and disappointment about her sexual orientation. Marijuana isn't called the gateway drug for nothing and soon Aliyah was trying harder drugs as well like cocaine and methamphetamines. As soon as her mother found out about it she dragged Aliyah off to rehab where she sobered up and got off the drugs. She'll still go out and party and get drunk sometimes, especially after work at the strip club she started dancing at after getting out of rehab. No other place would hire her and she liked showing off her body to complete strangers. The place she worked was a rare place in that it was actually reputable and the customers were not allowed to touch the dancers, no matter how much they tip them.

That was how Aliyah found herself at that fateful party that night, and how she eventually ended up naked and alone in a motel room holding a note that had had her name on it.
