In her first life, Herzas was a tan skinned refugee of the conquered nation of Lurish, with chestnut brown hair and dark brown eyes. Whatever mortality she once had is gone now, stripped away by the Melam which was bound into her against her will. All trace of color has been drained from her flesh, leaving her skin an ashen gray hue. Her hair, blackened by the magic, barely grows out past her scalp. Whispers of shadows and raw nightmare cling to her, flickering and condensing, the the Melam.  She is never seen without a heavy mantle of raven's feathers, black as night and ethereal.  The shadows which cling to her gather thickest there, seeming to whip about on unseen winds.
