Background:
Marton Tarkov was the son of a Hungarian construction worker who found work on Macross Island, and brought his family with him. Marton assisted his father as an mason's apprentice for two years before the First Robotech War began. During the battle of Macross Island, Marton made it to a shelter and was among the 70,000 civilians who space folded to Pluto. Marton's parents and older sister on the other hand were not so lucky and never made it to a shelter. While Macross City was rebuilt within the SDF-1, Marton was among the construction workers.  After battle of Saturn's Rings Marton was conscripted into the crew of the SDF-1. After scoring high on his aptitude tests for leadership, but not high enough for flight training Marton was trained as an EVA Specialist.
