Physical Description: Mays is 5'6", 160 lbs., has a medium build, dark brown hair, and hazel eyes.

Distinguishing Features: Mays often still wears dark blue scrubs of a surgeon or medical researcher, along with square-toed work shoes. She wears the matching head covering only while in surgery or working.

Organic Residue/Amino Acids/Hormone changes, since the virus, have caused her many scars, and the ugly tattoo on her butt, to fade or disappear. She is still sensitive to exhibit bare arms or legs, especially in a swimsuit. In addition, having a partly male psyche herself, she would abhor having other males looking at her female body in a sexual way.

History and Demeanor: Mays was overjoyed to have her extensive education paid for at Columbia, as well as receive hormone treatments to transition to a male body. Unfortunately, she could not afford the surgery on her own, refused to participate in the extensive and intrusive questions from the psychologists. In any case, she had to spend an immediate seven years at a hospital of the government's choice. No longer receiving the hormone treatments she transitioned back to a female body. Her psyche, however, is part male and part female.

She resented being assigned to the boondocks of Shelton, MO, and initially did not mix with Shelton locals away from the Hospital. After a while she decided to drop the chip on her shoulder and concentrate on her work, especially in the Emergency Room. However, she rarely mixed with hospital workers away from the job.

She has unofficially adopted Lena, a young girl who lost her family. She sees herself as a possible teacher, perhaps to teach science and doctoring skills.
