Born on the relatively recently re-claimed planet of Izzatu III, the voice of Kalia'ah was formerly a Tribal Shaman of his people. He is a veteran of the Izzatu War of Fulfillment, in which his people's 1000 year prophecy warning of the coming of the Imperium was met with resistance by heretics touched by the forces of Chaos. Kalia'ah proved himself by using his abilities to aid in seeking out and destroying the heretical Shaman. Before the war was completed, however, the Black ships inevitably came and absconded with the young Psyker.

His loyalty was rewarded with a grueling regimen of tests and trials focused on gauging his ability to withstand the temptations of the ruinous powers and grasping the basic knowledge required of any servants of the Emperor. His resilience proved true, and he was sanctioned on Terra as a worthy addition to the Imperium's Psychic Forces.

Kalia'ah's faith in the Imperium is older than his knowledge of it, for it was Prophecy that the sky ships would come and bring unity to the tribes of Izzatu III under the banner of a Golden Emperor. That Prophecy, his people's final prophecy, was fulfilled which has left Kalia'ah in a state of both wonder and uncertainty. After all, Prophecy has guided his entire life, but nothing could have prepared him for the trials he would face during his sanctioning, nor the vast and varied wonders of space.

Kalia'ah is a curious sort, interested in learning the ways of his new life; this is often a source of contention as he is prone to asking questions that should probably be left unanswered. Despite his best efforts, however, his ability to grasp the technology of the Imperium remains flawed, aside from the usage of the most basic weapons and equipment.
