Bradford (Bud) Newman Jones is a 48-year-old farmer who enjoys painting, whiskey, and watching sports. He is Hard Working and Serious, but is a raging Alcoholic and a bit Selfish.

He is American who defines himself as straight. He started studying sports science at college but never finished the course.

Physically, Bradford is slightly overweight but otherwise in good shape. He is tall with sallow skin, brown hair that is mostly gone now, and gray eyes. Life has not been good to Bud, and he looks about 20 years older than his 48 years.

He has lived in Blueberry all his life. He was married to Patricia, Katey Wilton's Aunt, who was murdered. He has no children.

Bud has no friends but he spends most of his time at Bill's Bar.
