Description:
At the high end of short, Riptide is stocky and muscular, his body covered in grayish denticles (shark scales) on his back, sides, limbs, and head, and white on his throat, chest, and abdomen, and his fingers and toes are webbed.  When he smiles or snarls, he shows multiple rows of sharp teeth, and his mouth can open easily twice as wide as a normal human's.  Below his ribcage are three pair of gills that are almost completely invisible when he is on land, they close up so tightly and are hidden beneath his denticles.  He has dual rows of triangles tattooed around his biceps/triceps and wrists, and his thighs and ankles.
He tends to wear only swim trunks or dive skins.
While skilled in modern small firearms, he is rarely seen using them.  He generally prefers to use a harpoon and a modified speargun, or whatever happens to be available, when he uses weapons at all.  He does have a pair of large knives with spiked knuckledusters hanging from his utility belt.  He wears his brass colored police badge on a black cord around his neck.
