Egocentric and demanding, Dr. Octavius can be very difficult to work with and is considered by many to be downright unpleasant. He is nonetheless a brilliant and passionate scientist, willing to risk life and limb for his work.

Background: Dr. Octavius was caught in an explosive blast while demonstrating the use of his mecahnical arm harness, fusing him with the technology. Due to his unorthodox methods and appearance he was shunned from the world of academia - that's when he was approached by SHIELD. Rising through the ranks, Dr. Octavius (or Dr. Octopus, as he is distastefully called) has put his genius to use saving the day numerous times. Though he sees field work as beneath him, the Doc's arms make him uniquely suited for dangerous situations, and he is excited at the prospect of finding and studying the abilities of meta humans.
