General Physical Description: Selene is tall and athletic, though her curves have become more apparent as her body has aged. Like most redheads, her skin is pale and freckles easily with exposure to the sun. As a military woman, Selene keeps her hair cut relatively short, though has been known to let it grow a bit when on leave. Rumors abound that her hair would be streaked with gray if it wasn't for her efforts to keep it looking like it did when she was in her youth.

Personality: Selene is a different person when on-duty versus off-duty. As someone in a command and discipline position, she has a reputation for being tough but fair. However, she is a firm believer in using positive reinforcement when possible and using teachable moments to their maximum potential. While she is known for her patience, few think it's a good idea to cross Selene as her temper is legendary.

When off duty, Selene is quick to crack a joke and makes easy conversation. She enjoys discussing things that have nothing to do with her job, including prevailing hairstyles, the latest Pyramid standings, and gossip from around the colonies/ship/fleet.

Hobbies: Games of all sort, be they physical or mental. She is particularly keen on strategies involved in various games. She also reads a lot of history, though really enjoys taking a break with fictional novels as well. She also keeps herself in shape using various aerobic activities as well as typical weight-training methods.

History and Background

Selene has been around the colonial military since her birth. Her parents were both members of the Navy, and were part of the military during the first Cyclon War. Her father was part of the fleet that protected the Scorpion Shipyards, and her mother was an engineer that worked within the shipyards to improve military equipment. Selene is the oldest of the family, and wasn't exactly planned. She has a younger brother (Ajax) and a younger sister (Daphne) both of whom are also in the military.

After the war ended, Selene spent her formative years moving with her parents to various postings all around the colonies. It was difficult for her to form too many close bonds with people as she would leave them every 2-3 years. This forced her to learn to adapt to new people and situations.

When she was of age, she applied for, and was accepted to, the Military Academy on Caprica. While not top of her class, Selene always applied herself and received good marks. Her class rank and curriculum were sufficient for selection to the Viper Pilot training program.

When in the seat of a Viper, Selene excelled at the practical aspects of piloting. She had a knack for understanding maneuvers and squadron tactics, and how they all fit together. She graduated with distinction.

Once she graduated, Selene spent the next decade flying Vipers. Her first post was on the Solaria where she learned how to be part of a crew, fly patrols, and integrate into military life. Her second post was as part of the fleet that protected the Scorpion Shipyards. It was here that she first earned special commendation, as her quick reaction while on patrol averted a potential disaster at the hands of a terrorist organization. She was then shuffled to the Atlantia, where she was a flight leader. It was during her time there that she started finding hints of a group that were planning a military coup. She exposed and help squash that group.

After some time as part of the air wing, Selene was promoted to Atlantia CAG. She excelled in this leadership position and immediately set her sights on the next posting she wanted, that of XO on a Battlestar. Her hard work was rewarded several years ago when she was promoted to be the XO of Battlestar Andromeda.

Tycho Pierce is a somewhat well-known yet now retired Admiral of the fleet. He had earned a long list of commendations during the first Cylon war. Phoebe Pierce is one of the most senior engineers at the Scorpia Fleet Shipyards. She was in her sixties now, but still loves her work.

Her callsign as a Viper Pilot was 'Nemesis'. She will still respond to this.
