Standing 5'11", with a slim build, long dark brown hair, and always in a tweed jacket, Marcus looks like a stereotypical hipster most of the time. The fact that he constantly listens to Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, and Frank Zappa doesn't exactly dispel that idea. Marcus moved to Queens two years ago, and started his day job as a substitute math teacher. His temperament with the kids is decent, though he's not above a magical prank when crossed by an ill-tempered student.

On his days off, which are many, Marcus spends his time researching spells, conducting experiments, and going out into the field for ingredients. The 'field' is usually not an actual field, it's just wherever the ingredients can be found, whether that's from a black market dealer or one of the supernatural denizens of Queens.

Marcus' goals are unclear, except that he is constantly searching for older magic, and this search leads him into places most sane people might not go.
