Verge

Name: Verge (Real name is Clark Anderson)
Age: 20
Path: Moros
Order: Mysterium

Striking Looks 1

Nimbus: Deepening shadows and a calm aura (+1 Composure)

Appearance:

Verge appears to be an attractive (striking looks 1) young adult male, with fair skin and short groomed auburn colored hair. His eyes have a dark quality to them - they seem pitch black when you look at him passingly but when studied his eyes are a more normal brown color. He is 5'10'' tall and about 150 pounds, with more of a lean build than bulky. He had an intelligent and curious look in his eye, and he tends to dress in casual/preppy sorts of clothing - button down shirt and cargo pants, etc rather than overly formal or overly frumpy. He often has a backpack with him.

Background:

Clark is a young man who is a native of Meriden. He comes from a middle class family and is the youngest of 3 children (His oldest sibling is a polite but coldly aloof 28 year old brother and the middle sibling is a doting 25 year old sister whom he holds in high esteem). His parents are religious and conservative, and while they care about Clark they disapprove of his rebellious liberal nature as well as his being bisexual (although they aren't mean enough to turn him away from the family as they believe blood is thicker than water). His older brother is more similar to his parents in temperament, but his sister is more moderate or even slightly liberal and fully accepts Clark and his quirks and is still quite doting on him.

Clark doesn't quite know what he wants to do with his life, and he is a college student but hasn't declared a major yet (he's a sophomore now so will declare something soon). He isn't afraid to use his magic selfishly or to sometimes cheat, but he never uses it to outright harm innocent people or steal from innocent individuals (he'd rather use time magic to help him at a casino or something, rather than use mind magic to command someone to give him their money if that makes sense). If he has extra cash, he sometimes donates it to charitable causes and despite his somewhat roguish and free-spirited nature he is very loyal to family and friends.

His awakening was rough on him - it was filled with almost traumatic levels of facing the secrets of death and rebirth and being partially subjected to a mini-reincarnation of sorts during his awakening, as well as the heart-breaking beauty and realness of the physical matter from dirt to gems and precious metals to everything in between. And the lonliness of knowing where he came from - the Fallen World - was such a flawed and incomplete version of the real truth. But after signing his name on the tower in Stygia his soul evolved into something inhuman, and he was forever changed. Only mostly human...but still human enough when it counted.

Clark's main goals these days are to look after himself and those he cares about, as well as learn new arcane secrets and travel and explore in new and exciting places over time until he is ready to settle down. Even when he finally finds a place he feels settled in, his curiosity will still be unquenched. He has a strong interest in ghosts and the underworld, but less as an "evil necromancer" and more as an exorcist, finder of secrets, and manipulator of twilight and ephemera.
