Elliot Halloway
THE BASICS
Name: Elliot Halloway
Nickname: El, but only by those close to him
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Distinguishing Marks: None, but often carries an antique pocket watch.
General Appearance: Elliot stands at 62 tall and weighs in around 185 pounds. His hair, somewhere between medium and long in length, is usually kept quite messy. Only on the rare occasion does he make sure it is properly combed. He often keeps a light mustache and beard. He isnt really the athletic sort, but his body shows some light muscle tone. He can almost always be found wearing jeans and a t-shirt. However, when in his classroom, he will usually toss on a respectable jacket over the t-shirt in an attempt to seem more professional.
HISTORY
Personality: Elliot is generally quite a laid-back individual who is always ready for a good drink and a good laugh. He takes the challenges of life as they come and faces them head on, though sometimes tossing out a snarky comment or two while doing so. Then, soon after, he will have forgotten whatever struggle he just faced, not letting the stress bother him for long. This laid-back nature makes itself known in his classroom, leading to a more informal class structure which students seem to enjoy.
Elliot is also a very social sort of person. He loves to strike up a conversation and chat for a while or joke around with others when he is able to. He always tries to have fun and let others in on that fun. He isnt always the life of the party, but he will at least try to keep the party going. More importantly, underneath it all, he is a bit of a romantic, or at least he would like to think so. He feels all emotions rather deeply when they come around, and he can often be found lost in thought, or, perhaps more likely, lost in a good book.
Though Elliot is usually laid back, he is adamant about the need to provide a good, stable education for children and, really, has a bit of a soft spot for them. He is always up for a game of catch or hide-and-seek and will always do everything he can to ensure that the children he teaches have every opportunity to have a happy, fun childhood.
Sexual Preferences: Heterosexual
Employment: Local elementary school teacher, aspiring writer.
About Your character: Elliot grew up in Stamford, Connecticut. He was the only child of the Halloway family. His father is the CEO of a Fortune 500 company while his mother runs her own successful medical practice. They cared for Elliot, but because of their careers, they spent little time at home. They made sure he was always content and he never went wanting for anything, save for their attention. He had an assortment of nannies and caretakers throughout his childhood but never grew close to any of them, instead finding an escape in literature. He learned to read at an early age and was always a few years ahead in his reading abilities than his classmates.
Though he wasnt able to spend much time with his parents, he had many, many close friends as he went through his schooling who he spent much of his time with and filled that void left by his business-oriented parents. He hung out with them frequently, partied often, and occasionally found himself in a bit of trouble. Between his friends and his ever growing collection of books, his childhood was a happy one, really, and he doesnt regret a moment of it.
After he graduated high school, he went on to a nearby college, allowing him to continue living at home. Despite his parents protests, he majored in education with a minor in English. They of course wanted him to seek a business or medical degree, but his desire was to help children who might be struggling and educate them, while, of course, trying to write on the side. His years in elementary school helped shape him into the man he is today, helping him learn about literature, form lasting friendships, and find an escape from his home. He hoped by becoming an educator he could help shape the lives of his pupils the way his teachers had helped shape his own. Eventually, his parents decided to help him pursue his dream and paid his way through his bachelor's and master's degrees.
After his college graduation, he began the job hunt and eventually found an elementary teaching position far from home, in a town called Stillwater. After discussing it with his parents, he came to find out his great-grandmother had originated from there many, many years ago. While he was apprehensive at first, he ended up applying for the position and taking it once offered. It was a way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the environment he was raised in, and he was happy to take it. He only recently moved into the small town, and, though some of the rumors going around have struck him as peculiar, he has loved every second in the beautiful little town.
