More information: Every single person in the current world has a story of who they were before and who they are now.  Arria is no different. She was someone else before the virus entered her world, and with a single cough, a single sneeze, her world changed forever.

Like her father before her, Arria wanted to go to law school. Unfortunately, her father never had the opportunity.  Due to circumstances, he couldn't pursue his dreams, but he was able to watch his daughter graduate from Harvard with a degree in law.  Her goal was to become a public interest attorney.  She wanted to help people that couldn't help themselves. She completed her bar exam and stepped into the world outside of university and studies.

A year later, at the age of 27, she said yes to her boyfriend of three years, Liam Camden.  Unfortunately, that same year the virus was released, and havoc began to spread around the globe.  Liam made the difficult decision of moving back across the ocean to take care of his parents, who both became sick with the virus while Arria remained in place.  The last time she had contact with him was six years ago.

Arria's mother succumbed to the virus, so she moved with her father to Compound 7.  Not because it was what she wanted to do, but it was because he thought it would be best for he and her younger brother Abe (who is 15 years younger than her).  They have lived at the Compound for seven years, and during that time, Arria has risen in the ranks, eventually being elected three years ago to run the entire installation.

It wasn't her winning personality (she is very stoic, blunt, and not an outgoing person) but her desire to do what is best for those around her. She does not mind making difficult decisions, she listens to her people, and she does what is best for Compound 7, even if it means staying hidden from the rest of the world.

Under her leadership, the Compound runs like a well-oiled machine.
